YOU CAN BE THEIR HERO: A Free Concert Celebration of Hero Foundation's Silver Anniversary

A concert was held last October 22, 2013 at the Glorietta Activity Center, Makati to celebrate the 25^th year of the HERO Foundation to commemorate the soldiers who sacrificed their lives to save our nation.

HERO Foundation (Help Educate and Rear Orphans Foundation Inc.) was organized by the late President Corazon C. Aquino in collaboration with her former administration’s Defense Secretary General Renato De Villa in 1988. This foundation is to help the families of fallen soldiers most especially their children. Donations are directly given to the families to help them with the cost of books, uniform, meals, transportation, school supplies and even their tuition fees.

The free concert was made possible with the help of the Ambassadors of the HERO Foundation, event organizers and some of the artists who were invited to spread the music of love to our neighbors and our country. An awards ceremony was also held to recognize Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum Donors.

The said event was hosted by TJ Manotoc and Kat Alano. And artists like Princess Velasco, Young JV, John Lesaca, Harana, Chad Borja, Jinky Vidal, Top Zura and Mark Bautista rendered heart warming songs. At the end of the night, bands like Callalily, Moonstar 88, Banda ni Kleggy and 6Cycle Mind came out to rock our night.

Everyone could donate to the Foundation to help send our fallen heroes’ children to school.
Our donations, regardless of the amount, would ensure that every beneficiary would finish their education. You would be a HERO no matter how much amount you donate.

AVIDA LAND FINDS A NEW HOME IN GLORIETTA

The Avida Land's marketing reach is getting bigger and wider as it opens its new home at the 2nd Floor of Glorietta 4 in Makati City. Having a showroom inside a mall is a good thing because the public could easily take a glimpse of their offerings in the course of  their shopping. 

Having the opportunity to witness the ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of their showroom, I quickly took a peek  at  all the units being offered.

The showroom gives people a chance to feel what it is like to have a home with Avida.  It has  sample models  of a studio, a one-bedroom and a two-bedroom unit that could be found in The Asten Tower situated in Makati, The Serin West in Tagaytay, and The Altura that will be built in Muntinlupa.

A short mass was held to solemnize the event. A coin shower ceremony was also held to usher in good luck.

Guests felt like they were  inside their own home as they savored the food and drinks offered by the event organizer, not to mention the scrumptious dessert provided by Sonja's Cupcakes.



The public can always have a closer look at the model units from Monday to Thursday between 10AM to 9PM  and from Friday to Sunday between 10AM to 10PM.

GOLDEN STAY AT GOLDEN SUNSET VILLAGE RESORT AND SPA

Have you had that one experience when you're in one place and you don't even want to go home? Well, it happened to me. As I was so busy browsing the internet, I've spotted some pictures that really caught my attention, pictures of different resorts in the Philippines. Getting tired of  work and everything, I've decided to take a break and have some vacation over the weekend.

After reviewing different resorts and browsing every sites I know, I've decided to check out the ones in Calatagan, Batangas. One resort caught my attention, The Golden Sunset Village Resort and Spa. I suddenly made a reservation for a room for me and my partner.

After merely 4 hours of travel, smiling faces of the staff welcomed us. They gave us free welcome drinks plus a free lunch voucher, a boon for our then hungry tummies.

On our way to our room, we have to ride a "jeep". Yes, that's how big the resort is. The room is simple and clean. But instead of having a king-sized bed, what we got was two single-beds. Not so much of a disappointment for a not so picky couple who just want to have a little bit of relaxation. We had a quick wash up before we went to check out what the resort had in store for us.

We visited The Outdoor Museum, Birds De Paradiso, and Serendipity Spa. It is perfect for families  or couples who would like to bond because they have different activities to choose from. They could go fishing at Palaisdaan;  sing their hearts out at Octave KTV Bar. They could also enjoy boating, biking, play billiards and table tennis, or simply have fun at the playground. 

Our 3-day stay at The Golden Sunset Village Resort and Spa is indeed a wonderful experience. Yes, it is old, but it is clean and well-maintained. We were so spoiled by the staff that we felt like royalties. We really enjoyed our vacation and are planning to go back. So if you want to have an enjoyable and relaxing vacation, I strongly suggest The Golden Sunset Village Resort and Spa. It is a real "paradise".
