A MAGICAL MOMENT IN TAGAYTAY

When I first entered Residence Inn last November 02, 2013, I was stunned when I saw a crazy woman wearing ragged clothes. That was how they celebrated Halloween.

Residence Inn is a combined mini zoo and hotel all in one package. Located in Tagaytay City, you could feel the refreshing breeze while enjoying the wonderful view of Taal Lake. It was a great move to build it beside the highway so no one would have a hard time finding it.

We had a short walk through the mini zoo, and there  I saw different kinds of full-grown animals.
Of course, we didn't want to miss the chance of trying their Zipline. And, to ride our excitement to the fullest, we tried the Cable Car on our way back.

After that, we all prepared our cameras for the show of the night, the horrifying “Black Magic”.  A special Halloween treat to play a trick on our imaginations.  Black Magic is known as the counter part of White Magic. Though it was said that it was used for evil and selfish purposes, Residence Inn proved it wrong by showcasing a different, mind boggling, unpredictable performance by the featured magician as well as the other performers.

Residence Inn won't stop thinking up entertainment and  surprises for their guests in the coming days. It is time for you to enjoy, relax and be amazed at Residence Inn.

READY, SET, DIRT!!!

Different cyclists from all over the country gathered together for the biggest and the first-ever Mountain Bike National Championship, the NUVALI DIRT WEEKEND 2013. Everyone were ready to get dirty as they got on their bicycles and raced to the finish line. Nuvali, located in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, known as an ideal venue for sports activities like marathons, fun runs, and wake-boarding hosted the said event.

The race was divided into three Union Cyclist International (UCI) stirring, moving and action-packed events: The Cross Country Olympics, Downhill-Individual, and Four Cross Race. Six Non-UCI registered mountain bike events were also featured namely NUVALI 30kms XC RACE, The Philippine Duathlon Series Championships, Kid's Championship Race, Fixie Events and the draining 24-Hour Race.

The Switzerland-based Union Cyclist International (UCI), a world-governing body for cycling, awards points to the winners for the said events. Earned points allow cycling enthusiasts to join important races like the SEAGAMES, Asian Games, Asian Championships.

Bikers deeply felt the support coming from their respective teammates, coaches and even from the crowd from the very beginning of the race up to the awarding ceremony. After the awarding ceremony, a tree-planting activity was held and various Dakila artists like Nityalila, Bayang Barrios and Noel Cabangon shared their music as their way of showing support, as well as furthering the cause of climate change awareness.

This event was not only held to showcase the future of professional cyclists in the country but is also an advocacy to help our brothers and sisters in the Visayas as the supporters, organizers and participants agreed to donate a percentage of the registration fee for the rehabilitation of their homes.

NUVALI DIRT WEEKEND 2013, a dirt-y event with a very clean purpose.

ONE WILD NIGHT AT ZOOBIC SAFARI

Who said that going to a zoo is just a day activity? Zoobic Safari proved it wrong as they brought back the "Night Safari". Located in Subic Bay, Zoobic Safari is known as the only "Tiger Safari" in the Philippines that offers an exciting ride as they take you to the wilderness.

On a night of our arrival at the Safari, mixed emotions have been playing on my chest. I was excited knowing that it was my first time to go there while nervousness is eating my heart out. We took a train on our way to the first stop; The Forbidden Cave. It is said to be a bunker that was used by the Americans that was turned into a cave to house preserved animals. Then we went to the Serpentarium where you can see different kinds of snakes, lizards and iguanas.

The tour was paused for a while to give way to a must-see event of the night, the Night Safari Show.
A presentation by the local aborigines, the Aetas, and several wildlife species was staged to remind us
of the importance of nature and our responsibility towards Mother Earth. The Aetas also shared their talents as they performed their traditional dances. Different kinds of animals from the other parts of the Philippines were showcased at the end of the show.

Going back to the tour, riding their customized Safari Jeep, we were then taken to the most bewildering experience of the Night Safari as we entered the Tiger Safari where we had a chance to see and be chased by full grown tigers. After riding the Safari Jeep, we went straight to Croco Loco, and got to walk through a crocodile lair. And, lastly, we had a short walk through Zoobic Park and had a chance to view glance on exotic, wild and semi-domesticated animals in their simulated natural habitat.

I could definitely say that going tothe Zoobic Night Safari is a not just a fun experience but an exciting and thrilling adventure. Let's all have a Zooooper night at the Night Safari.
